Today, boycotts and social exclusion are increasingly used as tools for moral signaling \u2013 but at what cost to democratic culture and public discourse?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Monday June 1st the annual conference World Expression Forum (WEXFO) takes place at Lillehammer, and UTSYN\u2019s director <strong>Ingrid Vik<\/strong> will chair a session on \u00abThe Marginalization of Moderates\u00bb with speakers <strong>Yuval Shany<\/strong> (professor of International Law) and <strong>Sharon Ben-Arie<\/strong> (Head of Diversity &amp; Inclusion, Hebrew University).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The session explores the mechanisms of &raquo;canceling&raquo; and the growing pressure to sever ties rather than build bridges. The conversation examines what happens to the seekers of nuance when contact across divides is treated as betrayal.
